Artist's Description
This piece was completed in a park with a library in Edwardsville, Illinois. The rightmost structure does exist, and the others are representations of structures I imagined could be there. I have been in the rightmost structure. It needs work, but is still a beautiful old building. I only wish property owners in Madison County, Illinois could see what I can see when I look at structures and streets, instead of simply sitting on their hands while structures crumble and in some cases burn. It is not cheaper to build new, unless you replace an architecturally significant construct with an ugly, cheaply made piece of junk that won't even last twenty years. Meanwhile community leaders cannot seem to understand that an area will not attract new businesses and homeowners if most of the buildings within it are abandoned, unused, or being used for unsafe housing.
About Joseph A Langley

Space - the final frontier... wait a minute, that's somebody else's. From a very young age I was fascinated with architecture, which shows through in much of my artwork today. I have exhibited in numerous shows, and received a few pieces of paper from my local postsecondary institution - well, more than a few, but I'm not referring to the bills. My artwork can be found in various private collections and will show up in the oddest places - sometimes I don't even know about it! If you decide to contact me, please be aware that I'm methodical, meaning slow. And not really methodical. You'll get a response eventually (most likely).
